The LaSalle Public Library is thrilled to offer this exciting virtual field trip. Join us as we virtually attend "The House on Mango Street," a ballet adapted from Sandra Cisneros' groundbreaking novel of the same name, as performed by Ballet 5:8's all-female Second Company in Chicago earlier this year. Through dance, poetry, movement, and discussion, students will explore themes of identity, belonging, community, and what it means to feel at home. 

This free bilingual program is a great introduction to storytelling through dance and is recommended for all ages.

We encourage those interested to read The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros before the performance, which can be checked out in both English and Spanish from the LaSalle Public Library.
